North Wind is a Dance Band hailing from central Alberta with roots planted firmly in Alberta. At it's core are two members known throughout Western Canada as two of the best old-time accordionists around.

Edwin Erickson has been playing dances, weddings etc, for more than 40 years in numerous bands. He is well known in Kimberley as one of the founders of the KIOTAC festival. Edwin brings immeasurable musical wisdom and fire to our group and is an integral part of the band. Allan Valberg is also well known throughout the accordion world, having played for dances and other venues for over 30 years, he still holds the title of the most wins in the Happy Hans Open in Kimberley, never taking less than 3rd in any competition. His steady beat and musicality add flair to the sound of our band. Edwin and Allan have played together on and off for 25 years, most recently in "Viking Persuasion", a band that has played many successful dances in Kimberley.

Kevin Lambert brings a whole new dimension to the band. A classically trained guitarist, Kevin has limitless talent that we draw upon in each and every song that we play. Whether it's chording or filling in with riffs here and there, Kevin always plays "just right" for the occasion. He is a most welcome addition to our orchestra. Ashley Valberg is our youngest member, the daughter of Allan, she has grown up with old-time and other styles of music being played at home. She brings a beautiful "rich" voice to our group, singing favorites and new pieces as well. Ashley may be just 19, but her voice is that of a 30 year old jazz singer. She is also part of our rhythm section, adding percussive sounds along the way. Both she and Kevin bring a youthful vigor to our orchestra.

Last, but not least is Connie Jensen, our drummer/ vocalist. A retired teacher Connie keeps everyone organized, bringing a flair and steady beat to our orchestra as well as adding her lovely vocals to numerous pieces.

North Wind is a new blend of old and new, playing a mix of traditional old-time, light jazz, standards, western swing, but, always ....dance music.
